The Tactical Solutions Strategic Business Unit delivers mission system solutions, from specialized antennas to electro-optical technologies, to the warfighter. Our systems enhance the performance of various military platforms, from aircraft and land vehicles to ships and satellites, and give warfighters the advantage they need to take action, identify targets and defend against evolving threats.
Director of Software Execution Strategy
A leader with a background in developing, deploying, and maintaining software and hardware ecosystems to solve complex stakeholder problems. The position is focused on managing multiple, large program portfolios with attention to aligning executability, extensibility, and internal business capabilities while satisfying customers. This role has significant responsibilities and impact on business performance and capability as it relates the Tactical Systems Strategic Business Unit (SBU). The role is responsible for partnering with the TS SBU leadership team to align programs with the SBU strategic goals and improve program execution success. Establishing collaborative and effective partnerships with Engineering and Information Technology leadership is imperative to successfully drive SW product development maturity in the business. This position reports to the VP and General Manager of the Tactical Systems Business Unit and is based in Westminster, Colorado.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with the TS SBU leadership team to define and achieve the SBU strategic goals and improve program execution success.
- Create a compelling software product portfolio vision and ensure TS software pursuits align with strategic technical roadmaps in partnership with Engineering and Information Technology leaders.
- Align with customers on software development strategy and requirements, engage in pursuit, proposal and execution phase of software efforts across TS, collaborate to set Tactical Solutions portfolio priorities and communicate to all support units.
- Improve existing and design new software solutions both to integrate with physical hardware products and as standalone software solutions.
- Implement holistic best practices for DevSecOps across the SBU’s software ecosystem.
- Leverage cross-functional teams of internal (e.g. IT, Engineering, Security, Finance) and external (customer) stakeholders to ensure critical needs are met on time and on budget.
- Oversee program SW execution infrastructure and processes within the TS SBU:
- Ensure that program SW cost and schedule align with program scope at proposal and throughout the program life cycle.
- Ensure risks are documented as part of the proposal process and are revisited and appropriately updated as the program progresses.
- Ensure that processes for establishing program baselines, measuring program progress, and reporting accurate cost and schedule information are in place and the resulting information provides an accurate representation of the overall cost, schedule, and technical status of the programs.
- Lead metric-driven process changes that improve production and resource forecasting to maximize revenue.
