A great opportunity to join our Logistics team in this busy front of house position, supporting the smooth running of the Gatehouse and Goods In team operation.
Being the main focal point for all staff, visitors and contractors entering the site, candidates will have excellent communication and organisational skills and will be working closely with stakeholders across the business to safely manage and orchestrate all vehicle movement on site. Duties will also include booking in/receiving all raw materials, accurately recording quantities against purchase orders and maintaining all records pertinent to Goods In office administration.
The Hours:
This role will operate a 4 days on, 4 days off, 12 hour shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities:
- To be the first point of contact, providing a consistent and professional approach
- To manage on-site traffic and coordinate vehicle movements to designated loading and unloading locations
- To operate the ERP system relevant to department movements, generating labels and checking if all inbound deliveries have scanned, booked and weighted correctly
- To demonstrate effective internal communication of vehicle flows, raw material deliveries and returnable assets once on site
- Prepare shipping documents (CMRs & D-notes) for returnable assets and raw materials
- To maintain, analyse and record department KPI data according to team objectives
- Booking System vendor management & reporting
- Timely escalation of variances to agreed schedules to internal/external stakeholders
- Track and coordinate waste collection for disposal or recycling and record keeping
- To trigger discrepancy investigations related to received vs expected variances based on agreed tolerances
Requirements
- Comprehensive command of English, both written and spoken
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent literacy and numeration skills
- Strong administrative skills and accurate attention to detail
- Proven experience in transport, logistics and operations administration
- An understanding of BRC / Retailer technical and delivery expectations
- Qualified to GCSE level or equivalent in English & Maths
- PC literate and conversant with Microsoft office & Outlook
