SER Safety Program Consultant

 

This is an internal requisition serving to filling the newly created Southeast Region Safety Program Consultant position. The position is based in Circuit 15 with regular travel throughout the Region.

 

This is a highly responsible position overseeing all fleet operations, providing technical assistance to the program on fleet-related issues, inputting and maintaining data in multiple applications. This role involves updating vehicle assignments, conducting monthly audits of logs and receipts, and processing invoices. The Safety Program Consultant enters monthly vehicle data into the DMS fleet management system, reviews and approves repairs on state-owned vehicles, and communicates with other personnel to access other data and information. The role requires regular travel throughout the region and produces regular reports on fleet utilization, operational costs, and communicates recall notices for affected vehicles.

 

Paygrade Salary is $39,320.81 - $83,338.32 with the selected candidate being compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains spreadsheet of the status and movement of each vehicle within the region to optimize operations and deployment. Applies assignment guidelines and maintains staff listing for assignment as vehicles become available as well as provide technical assistance to program on fleet issues.
  • Arrange and assist with preventative maintenance to enhance vehicle reliability and extend lifespan. Ensure all vehicles meet stringent cleanliness and appearance standards prior to client delivery. Coordinate the repair process, liaise with technicians, and verify the accuracy of completed repairs and work orders. Oversee the delivery and pick up of vehicles for maintenance at body shops and dealerships.
  • Manage vehicle reservations, usage logs, and maintenance request efficiently for pool vehicles. Oversee the integration and removal of fleet assets in the state vehicle inventory.
  • Assist with vehicle repairs for damaged vehicles and recall notices as required.  Assist with fleet maintenance as required. 
  • Keep detailed logs of vehicle services, inspections, receipts, and deliveries to support operational integrity and compliance. Manage and communicate tickets and violations with appropriate staff.  Advise leadership on non-compliance of policy by assigned drivers. 
  • Ensure monthly vehicle usage reports are submitted and approved to the Fleet Manager (no later than end of month for previous month). Complete monthly program audits and reports.
  • Provide ongoing training for new staff on vehicle maintenance procedures and operational protocols.
  • Collaborate with management to formulate and enforce fleet management policies and procedures as well as other additional duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess current valid State of Florida driver's license
  • Highschool Diploma
  • High organizational skills
