About the role
Reporting to the Global Payroll Manager, the Payroll Administrator I will manage daily payroll operations, including preparing biweekly payroll. Additionally, this role will offer ad-hoc support to the accounting team for various projects and handle employee payroll inquiries and issues.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees ensuring the accuracy of data
entry. - Monitor timely receipt of payroll documents from all departments.
- Ensure non-exempt employee data from Time & Attendance software is complete and
accurate. - Create pay data batches, verify, and reconcile wages & hours; calculate time sheets
when needed. - Prepare accounting entries related to payroll.
- Provide information to accounting to assist with certain reconciliations such as HSA,
FSA, PTO, etc. to the general ledger. - System maintenance, including, but not limited to tax form processing, timekeeping input,
and garnishment processing. - Process manual checks, as required.
- Prepare various reports and censuses.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a related administrative role.
- Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Previous experience in handling payroll inquiries and resolving discrepancies.
- Proficiency in processing payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and benefits
accurately and efficiently. - Understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance
requirements. - Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations and data entry.
- Ability to maintain and manage payroll records and confidential employee information
securely. - Knowledge of general accounting principles to assist with preparation of reconciliations
related to payroll cycle. - Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee
inquiries. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and
collaborating with other departments. - Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities effectively.
- Ability to provide exceptional service and support to employees regarding payroll-related
questions and issues.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field
preferred. - NetSuite experience preferred.
- Experience in accounting or finance roles preferred.
