Our Manassas, Virginia site is a part of the Consumer Health division and provides expanded capabilities in soft chews and lozenges. With extensive development and manufacturing expertise and a wide range of flavors, ingredients, and colors available, we can work with complex formulations to help create engaging new products consumers will love.

The Maintenance Manager will provide general leadership and direct supervision to maintenance mechanic crew. Set-up and oversee a preventive/predictive maintenance program. Train, coach, mentor crew so that they can perform at maximum efficiency. The Maintenance Manager will oversee all functions involving maintenance of facilities and equipment. Ensure that quality standards are maintained, and productivity targets are met. Maintain MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) inventory. Direct employees in proper safety procedures.

The Role

• Provide general leadership and direct supervision to maintenance mechanic crew

• Create preventative and predictive programs that increase operational throughput

• Schedule, train, and mentor crew so that they can produce at maximum efficiency

• Ensure adequate staffing, direction, discipline, and corrective action

• Oversee and direct the planning and execution of daily production activity

• Direct and manage the operations to improve performance through continuous improvement methodology and problem analysis to reduce unscheduled downtime, minor equipment stops, breakdowns, process upsets, material quality losses

• Direct employees in proper safety procedures and identify/eliminate avoidable accidents

• Facilitate project work and assure successful project implementation and completions within the parameters set forth

• Set-up and oversee a preventive/predictive maintenance program

• Other duties as assigned

The Candidate

• Associate degree or 5+ years related experience and/or training required

• Previous experience with production line equipment such as conveyors and wrappers is preferred

• Previous experience performing preventative maintenance is preferred

• Previous GMP experience is highly preferred

• Strong analytical/problem solving/process improvement skills

• Ability to prioritize and follow-through to achieve results and meet deadlines

• Strong foundation in interpersonal communication concepts, specifically, written, oral, presentation, listening, and facilitation skills

• Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.

• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and develop effective solutions

• Knowledge of machinery operations and equipment

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
