To forecast, plan and schedule manufactured and purchased parts to meet customer needs in the most timely and efficient manner. To create production control documents to support the manufacturing processes
This position has great emphasis on quality assurance and troubleshooting in materials / scheduling and coordinating the delivery of materials to be used in the manufacture of large, custom, special purpose vehicles of any description.
The Production Control Planner will frequently interface with Engineering, Quality, Inventory, Sales Departments, and Suppliers.
Essential Functions:
Planning
- Plan the point of use location for all purchased parts by line segment
- Code manufactured parts by bill of material for distribution in manufacturing
- Perform the Clear to Build function at engineering release
- Maintain the Fabrication Portal as required weekly
- Maintain the Fabrication supermarkets by assigned Plant
- Plan and process manufactured part ECO's
- Plan weekly schedules for purchased parts triggered by Production Control
- Distribute bill of material changes for units with open work orders
- Create Red Books
- Create fabrication print packages by line segment
- Release production orders by line segment and supermarket parts
- Process Parts Central orders
Pre-Production Planning
- Support new product development from concept stage through successful product launch
Inventory
- Manage inventory to ensure cell objectives are met and in line with company objectives
- Manage assigned product to meet customer service and inventory plans
Other Duties May Include, But Are Not Limited To: Perform or assist with any operations, as required or directed, to maintain work flow or respond to production requirements.
