How can you make a difference?
- Support UNICEF engagement with GPE governance structures, working groups, and strategic processes. This includes review of related GPE governance documents and processes and providing input to inform UNICEF strategic decisions.
- Provide inputs into GPE strategic documents and participate in related consultation processes ensuring coherence with UNICEF priorities.
- Track and analyze developments in GPE processes and ensure UNICEF Country Offices are well versed on relevant developments.
- Support preparation for UNGA, ECOSOC, HPLF and related UN processes, including development of briefings notes, talking points, and background notes as relevant.
- Monitor global education policy trends, political dynamics, and partnership developments ensuring the GEP is informed accordingly.
- Support coordination with Permanent Missions and UN partners in New York.
- Contribute to organization of high-level meetings, bilateral engagements, and side events as well as positioning of UNICEF in these events.
- Contribute to internal coordination on messaging, positioning, and engagement strategies.
- Contribute to development of knowledge products to strengthen UNICEF's visibility and influence
Minimum requirements:
Education: Advanced university degree (Master's or higher) in education, public policy, international relations, international development, or related field.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in education policy reform, international relations or related areas;
- Demonstrated experience working at international level and engagement in multilateralism within the education sector
- Experience in engagement with UNGA and/or multilateral processes and other global education related events
- Experience working with governments, multilateral organizations, and development partners;
Skills:
- Strong analytical and political economy analysis skills
- Excellent drafting and communication skills
- Ability to synthesize complex issues into clear strategic messages
- Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-level policy environments
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
Desirables: Familiarity with UNICEF programming and global education priorities is an asset.
