MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with month-end closing process for multiple companies. This includes posting journal entries, review financial statements to ensure accurate accruals, expense classifications reasonableness
- Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Track and post key statistics
- Prepare revenue analysis schedules, including but not limited to Cash to Net Revenue, Cash Hindsight Analysis, Cash Trending, Closed Claim Rate Analysis, Contractual Adjustment Hindsight Analysis, Bad Debt Hindsight Analysis, Revenue Accrual Analysis
- Asist with the Physician Compensation Calculation and accrual
- Track and accrue for drug rebates
- Assist with the budget process
- Provide support for and work with external auditors during interim and year end audit
- Review Financial Reporting Package Excel file for accuracy.
- Assists with identifying and analyzing expenses and cost driver trends and recommend improvements accordingly
- Maintains strictest confidentiality
- Performs related work as required
II.CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of accounting practices including accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Knowledge of physician practice accounting
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Skill in computer applications in accounting, word processing and spreadsheets
- Skill in use of a calculator
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial matters
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures
- Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
- Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public
- Ability to perform mathematical computations and compute ratios and percentages
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
- Four (4) year degree in accounting
- At least three to five years of accounting experience
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL
- Experience with Creative Solutions Accounting, Checkbook Solutions, Excel and Outlook software
- Physician Practice accounting experience
- Physician billing software experience
EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING
- Four (4) year degree in accounting
- At least three to five years of accounting experience, preferably in a health care organization.
