The BASF Performance Materials business responds quickly to customer needs, without cutting corners to sacrifice safety or quality. The business services a wide range of customers in many different markets from automotive, construction, refrigeration, appliances, etc. The operators within the Clemson Site must adapt to change safely, quickly, and efficiently while maintaining the highest quality requirements. The Operator III manufactures blended resin systems for foam application to meet our customer needs.

During your time as a Material Handler B you will…

 

• Handle the receipts of shipments of Autofroth Cylinders. Transfer of chemical to the necessary shipping containers for shipment to customers. Fill, purge, document, paint and rebuild the fittings on cylinders. Secure cylinders to specialized flatbeds and box vans.
   
• Handle the shipments of drums, totes and cylinders via LTL and truckload quantitates. Have a good knowledge of BOL and shipping paperwork to correctly and safely ship material from the warehouse to the customer location. 
   
• Be an integral part of the site’s safety culture. Be responsible for certain areas of the plant from a safety and housekeeping perspective. Be required to master a certain number of standard operating procedure.
   
• Train in Department of Transportation (DOT). Understand hazard communication and DOT/OSHA requirements for chemical transportation, storage, and handling.
   
• Understand how to use personal protective equipment to perform all necessary job functions within the process.
   
• Be certified to drive a forklift.

• Own a high level of attention to detail.
   
• Can lift at least 50lbs.
