About the role

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior Data Governance SME to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  This position can be worked remotely.  This qualified applicant will become part of Peraton’s United States Coast Guard (USCG) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) Program. This program is an enterprise delivery service consisting of several consolidated task orders and is executed to bring innovation and modernization to the USCG enterprise IT environment, within a managed service business model. The USCG enterprise encompasses an extensive range of IT services and has unique solution challenges to meet their mission needs. 

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and data classification guidelines, ensuring consistency and accuracy of data across different systems and branches
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and maintain a data catalog and metadata repository
  • Facilitate data issue resolution and escalation of unresolved issues to appropriate stakeholders
  • Manage the availability, usability, integrity, and security of the data based on internal data standards and policies that also control data usage ensuring that data is consistent, trustworthy and doesn't get misused
  • Develop data design documentation and logical data flow diagrams
  • Ensure data governance and solutions are applicable to Zero Trust Architecture and organizational Zero Trust Strategy
  • Work with stakeholders to evaluate, select, and implement data governance tools and technologies to support data governance processes
  • Communicate data governance strategies, progress, and challenges to stakeholders as well as identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years’ experience or Master's degree with 6 years’ experience or HS Diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience
  • U.S. Citizenship Required; must have an active Secret security clearance
  • Experience with data automation, reporting, and case management solutions
  • Experience in creating, implementing, and maintaining operational policies, standards and procedures related to managing data protection and governance programs
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft 365 Zero Trust Deployment Stack
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Defender
  • Data management and data protection management practices and capabilities
  • Experience coordinating with data stewardship activities such as data profiling, data cleansing, and data quality monitoring

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
