Lead Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design solutions to scale distributed systems, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, review code, and deliver with efficiency and quality. Develop major components of software products in a self-directed capacity. Drive conversations with engineering and product teams to gather business requirements. Independently clarify software and system requirements, and analyze requirements and their feasibility. Perform unit and integration testing on completed software. Write technical documentation for developed applications. Advise, mentor, and guide junior developers including Software Engineers and Software Engineer Interns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Staff Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Staff Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Microservices; Apache Kafka; Docker; Java; Python; SQL; Typescript; REST; Automated Testing; Unit Testing; and Redis.

Job Location: 3223 Hanover St, Palo Alto, CA 94304. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.

Full-Time. Salary:  $178,539.90 - $215,000.00 per year.
