About UC Clermont

UC Clermont College is an open admissions regional campus 30 miles east of the University of Cincinnati in Batavia, Ohio with an enrollment of approximately 2800 students. The college offers a variety of certificates, transfer programs, two-year technical degrees and a baccalaureate degree.

Job Overview

The UC Clermont College Business and Law Department invites applications for Assistant Professor – Educator of Economics. This position supports instruction in both the Pre-Business transfer program, as well as the fully online technical business associate degree programs.

Essential Functions

  • Faculty responsibilities include teaching 12-credit hours per semester for two primary semesters, ongoing scholarship/professional development, and service in areas such as department, college, university, and community.  
  • Faculty will be required to maintain weekly office hours and attend required on-campus meetings.
  • Administrative responsibilities may include providing leadership and support to those working within the discipline, course assessment as well as discipline assessment, and a willingness to participate in all departmental duties. 
  • All candidates must have the appropriate degree awarded by time of appointment.
  • The position includes teaching economics courses (which requires having completed 18 semester hours of graduate economics courses).

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Economics or a Master’s degree in Business with at least 18 graduate hours in Economics from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Three years teaching experience in Economics in an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • At least 2 years online teaching experience in an accredited institution of higher learning.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Bachelor’s in Business areas of management, marketing or finance
  • Three years teaching experience in a two-year open access college environment.   
  • Three years teaching experience in Economics at the freshman and sophomore level in an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Experience with and advanced knowledge of Quality Matters, or an online certification from Quality Matters.
