Position Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions):

Responsible for protecting the organization’s computer, information and data against threats, such as security breaches, misconfigurations, viruses or attacks by cybercriminals. Coordinates the IT Security organization's technical activities to implement and manage security infrastructure and to provide regular status and service-level reports to management. Manages a highly technical staff of Information Security Engineers and Cyber Threat Analysts, Provides the following: leadership & training on the installation, configuration & use of information security products & tools. Manages the Security Information and Event Management infrastructure (SIEM) and ensures that monitoring, alerting and reporting for all security related events, attacks or incidents occur on a 24/7 basis. Responsible for Cyber Security Operation Center co-managed partner relationship.  Recommend, review and approve new content monitoring and alerting use cases.  Manage cyber SOC analyst’s and engineers, ensuring security events and incidents are investigated and documented. Oversee ACG subsidiary cyber SOC monitoring. Responsible for Vulnerability management, host and application vulnerability assessments, File integrity and configuration management, Database monitoring and alerting, Threat prevention including malware/threat prevention and monitoring and web application security firewall management. Oversee and manage endpoint detection and response, threat intelligence, IOC development, threat hunting, penetration testing and Data Loss Prevention.

Researches, recommends, evaluates and implements information security solutions that identify and/or protect against potential threats. Serves as a primary or backup Computer Security Incident Response Manager (CSIRP) during a level 3 or above security incident. Coordinates and implements remediation as required by audits and documents exceptions as appropriate.  Works with the Information Security leadership team to set short and long term strategies and on application or infrastructure projects to assist and implement agreed upon specifications and solutions for security technologies and key information systems.

Manages the business unit process related to the selection, hiring, training, development, coaching, review and counseling of assigned staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities (briefly describe, if applicable, or indicate None):

Directly supervises a staff of Security Analysts & Engineers

Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)

Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field or an equivalent level of work experience.

Experience:

  • Experience as a leader in an IT security environment.

  • Developing, recommending, implementing security solutions to increase protection of information

  • Investigating and resolving security incidents and computer forensic technologies

  • Developing procedures for conducting security risk assessments

  • Identifying security risks and exposures, determining causes and providing recommendation to resolve future issues

  • Familiarity with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, FFIEC, the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), PCI

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Budget projections and expense control

  • Security management

  • Critical technical information pertaining to the security area

  • Analysis, problem solving and decision making

  • An understanding of operating system internals and network protocols

  • Method and process of application development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in related field or supervisory experience with related IT security certification (CISSP or CISM preferred)
