About the role
Support Center
As a Director of Strategic Planning, you will:
• Develop and implement strategies for revenue optimization, including regulatory compliance, cost containment, and innovative financial solutions.
• Replicate complex HSCRC payment policies and analyze results to advise senior leadership on areas of opportunity and exposure. Translate into monitoring Dashboards to inform operations on performance.
• Monitor payment policy developments to identify risks and opportunities, advising senior leadership on strategic responses.
• Represent Adventist Healthcare in State workgroups as appropriate.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize clinical economics, including HSCRC payment policy optimization, cost reduction initiatives, reimbursement optimization, and financial analysis.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to identify opportunities for improving clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction while managing costs effectively.
• Monitor and analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and payer reimbursement models to identify potential risks and opportunities for revenue enhancement.
• Lead the application of economic principles and rigorous analysis to healthcare decision-making to improve the value, efficiency, and sustainability of healthcare operations while optimizing patient outcomes.
• Lead the development of a service line portfolio management approach to managing margins across our provider settings.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic analytics framework to support decision-making at the organizational level.
• Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data related to financial performance, clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and market trends. Use best-in-class industry benchmarks to prioritize opportunities and exposure points in the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage data insights and drive evidence-based strategies, fostering innovation and supporting the organization's long-term growth objectives.
• Oversee development of cost accounting, decision support team, and actionable analytics to prioritize ROI opportunities for executive leadership.
• Lead the development of accurate, actionable operations projections.
• Coordinate data needs for enterprise performance improvement initiatives across the health system, with a focus on operational efficiency, quality improvement, and patient safety.
• Facilitate the collaboration and synergy between strategic analytics and operations excellence/performance improvement to achieve optimal results on identified opportunities.
• Coordinate the definition of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop enterprise dashboards and reports to measure the achievement of organizational goals.
• Collaborate closely with leaders using data-driven approaches, such as Lean Six Sigma methodologies, to identify and implement process improvements across departments, streamlining workflows, and enhancing overall efficiency.
• Provide visionary leadership, setting the strategic direction for the Clinical Economics, Operations Excellence/Performance Improvement, and Strategic Analytics departments.
• Build and manage high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional development.
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership, department heads, and other key stakeholders to align initiatives, drive organizational change, and achieve shared goals.
Qualifications include:
• Progressive leadership experience in healthcare management, preferably within a complex health system or large healthcare organization.
• Strong background in HSCRC healthcare finance, reimbursement, operations performance driver analytic tools, and financial analysis.
• Extensive experience with strategic planning, data analytics, and decision support within a healthcare setting. Experience with the application of price-volume-mix performance driver analysis preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
• An advanced degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's Degree required
