Role and Responsabilities


The company is seeking an experienced, highly driven candidate to play a critical role supporting financial policies, procedures, controls, and the reporting systems of the company. This position will report to the Director of Finance & Accounting and will ensure the integrity of the general ledger, subsystems and manufacturing data while maintaining a high level of communication with operational managers. Additionally, this candidate will proactively seek process improvements to aid in streamlining the efficiency of the department. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the timely preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports and managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting / finance team. Direct reports will include 3 staff members.


· Accurate and timely recording of all transactions within our ERP system.

· Reconciliation of all general ledger account balances.

· Evaluate labor and overhead budget variances and provide actionable insights to management.

· Timely reporting of monthly financial statements (2 day close) which includes executing all necessary journal entries as part of the month-end closing program and maintaining proper documentation.

· Fixed asset and capital expenditure project management including payback financial calculations.

· Assist plant management with the cost savings/profit improvement programs. Establish the savings tracking models. Verify financial information on the cost savings/profit improvement plans to ensure accuracy.

· Ensure goods receipts are properly accrued and matched with vendor invoices, so that outstanding items are cleared timely (GRIR process). Ensure vendor invoices are properly processed by plant and purchasing personnel by coordinating and leading resolution efforts.

· Analyze financial information, including lease recognition requirements, and create solutions.

· Manage multiple deadlines and respond quickly to management, plant, and other departmental requests.

· Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal control procedures including concise SOP’s.

· Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

· Oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.

· Assist with the development of the annual budget, periodic forecasts and support financial planning and analysis.

· Research and apply technical US GAAP requirements and financial principles, facilitate internal and external audits needs and perform additional ad-hoc analysis and reporting.

· Responsible for coordinating deliverables required from external financial institutions and insurance brokers.

· Assist plant leaders with cost savings / profit improvement programs, accounting best practices and sometimes serve as back-up for other team members on PTO. Cross train others as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements


· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar field with five plus years of progressive accounting experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.

· Previous experience within manufacturing with AP, AR, inventory accounting, fixed assets, general and cash accounting, financial analysis and reporting and budgeting.

· Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organized and adaptable.

· Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel and ERP system experience.
