Role Title: Cyber Strategy Director

Location: London (Hybrid)

Reports to: CISO

 

 

This role is part of our strategic investment to enhance the cyber security maturity of our organisation. It is integral to our recently revitalised cyber function, which is improving our resilience and readiness against evolving cyber threats. The cyber function has grown rapidly over the last couple of years and plays a vital role in the transformation happening at Royal Mail. We are a team of 60-70 who are committed to enhancing our cyber security capability.

 

What will you do?

 

As the Cyber Strategy Director at Royal Mail Group, you will…

 

• Lead the development, refinement and execution of a forward-thinking cyber strategy that addresses current and emerging threats.
• Engaging with the board and senior leaders across RMG you will articulate the vision and roadmap of cyber ensuring cyber strategy compliments and enables the wider business transformation strategy.
• Working across the business to proactively understand the cyber security threat landscape at RMG ensuring proper planning is implemented and risks are mitigated as early as possible through close collaboration and strategy development.  
• Develop the business case for investment in cyber security, inform and lead the investment budget planning process in a collaboration with the cyber leadership team, finance and other relevant senior leaders. Lead the cyber contract review and renewal process; driving simplicity and efficiency across the process.  Plan for future budget requirements and Identify cost saving opportunities.
• Influence the cyber security awareness and culture across RMG by improving and developing training and engagement campaigns. Engage in external though-leadership and ensure strategy is robust and forward thinking. And evaluate the adoption of new tools and solutions to ensure they enhance the organisations cyber resilience.
• Govern RMG’s cyber policies and standards across the IT and OT estate. Developing, updating, and communicating these documents as needed for RMG to manage cyber risks and remain in compliance with the regulations.
• Own supplier relationships and hold them to account for delivery. 

 

What skills and experience should you have?

 

• Experienced in developing, refining and executing a forward-thinking cyber strategy
• Broad understanding of Cyber Security principles
• Experience in reviewing and writing policies
• Familiarity with all relevant security standards
• Budgetary responsibility and experience in cyber investment
• Third party vendor management experience including negotiations
• Experience driving cyber awareness and training
• People management experience within cyber security
• A passion for cyber security and keen interest in staying up-to-date on trends through networking and events
