Asset Protection Team Manager, Data Center Security

AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for an Asset Protection Team Manager to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team.

As an Asset Protection Team (APT) Manager you will be tasked with driving operational security excellence in several separate facilities located within a short driving distance. You and your team will be responsible for 95% for security-required Red Zone (RZ) moves during our normal business hours. This procedure supports the AWS Media Protection Policy and AWS Physical and Environmental Protection Policy, and as the APT Manager you will lead the future of AWS as a specialized team focusing on planning, executing and safely delivering RZ assets as well as supporting our relevant stakeholders and business partners who participate in Red Zone moves.

As the APT manager you will assist in the selection of your team members, and once implementation occurs, decide on the best method to capture the APTs metrics supporting RZ moves which will assist in measuring the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years overseeing security operations and managing personnel
• 3+ years of experience working with security vendors and contractors
• 2+ years Project Management experience
• 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office tools.
• 2+ years of experience in security procedures, planning, and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in access control and video surveillance software applications (eg. LENEL or C-cure)
• 4+ years of experience working in a facility and observing security gaps in physical barriers, security officer procedure, policies, surveillance equipment, and alarm points.
• 3+ years of experience driving campaigns to reduce nuisance alarms.
• 3+ years of experience working with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metrics.
• 3+ years of experience investigating accidents, thefts, disturbances, discrepancies.
• 4+ years of experience writing detailed reports.
• 5+ years of experience with excellent verbal and written communications skills in a professional work setting.
• 4+ years of overseeing security sub-contractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access controls.
• 3+ years of experience overseeing security construction projects.
• Must be able to travel between local locations.
• 3+ years of experience teaching others the proper security processes and methods.
• 2+ years of root-cause analysis experience
• 2+ years of experience creating and implementing emergency planning programs and physical security countermeasures
• Detailed and data driven experiences that exemplify Amazons Leadership Principle
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
