Job Description

As Network Engineer, you will support the technical needs of both internal and external customers to maintain the highest levels of network availability, performance, and growth all with the utmost respect, professionalism, and courtesy. You will research, evaluate, recommend, design, implement, and support current and new network technologies supporting overall infrastructure improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Network Design
  • Configuration and Installation of Network Hardware and Software
  • Coordination of Network Maintenance Tasks and Schedules
  • Monitoring and Management of Network Performance
  • Design and Implementation of Network Security Procedures
  • Monitoring and Management of Network Security Measures
  • Monitor and respond to network, server, storage related alarms
  • Cross functional coordination with server, storage, workstation and application areas
  • Management Reporting
  • May act as a Project Lead Technical Mentorship of Junior Staff
  • Creation and Maintenance of Network Documentation
  • Creation and Maintenance of Network Processes and Procedures
  • Assist in troubleshooting telephony related issues
  • Assist in the design and implementation of company-wide IT projects.
  • Configuring site-to-site, SSL and IPSec VPNs
  • Virtual Private Networking support for other remote users requiring access to the Eurofins North America Environmental network.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

Flexible location - this role can be located within a commutable distance of any Eurofins Environmental Testing laboratory within the United States. Must be a laboratory within the Environmental Testing Division of Eurofins.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required. 

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to be able to present to a target audience
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including hours beyond the normal schedule when necessary; we operate in a 24x7x365 environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills of very complex systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in resolving issues with complex systems.
  • Good end user presentation skills. Able to communicate technical information to users in a non-technical manner.
  • Ability to travel is required

Education/Experience (BMQ):

  • A BA/BS degree with 2 years of experience and/or an Associate degree with 4 or more years’ experience is preferred.
  • Degree equivalency: 7 years’ working experience in an enterprise IT environment in a network-specific position

Additional preferences:

  • Experience with Cisco Next Generation Firewall configuration and deployment
  • Strong understanding of Cisco switching/routing
  • Strong understanding of MPLS, IPSEC Tunnels, QoS, BGP routing, arp, mac-address table, VLANs, trunking, po
