The Institute Director holds comprehensive operational, budgetary, and financial oversight for multiple cardiovascular specialties, including Vascular Medicine, Preventive Cardiology, Women’s Cardiovascular Center, Heart Failure, and Interventional Cardiology. You will oversee clinical staffing for regional Vascular Medicine and Heart Failure teams, as well as specific work groups such as Administrative Assistants, hospital-based Vascular Technicians, and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, managing staffing, operations, and capital budgets across the health system. Additional responsibilities include financial and staffing oversight for the Cath Lab and close collaboration with Transplant services.
The role requires managing a diverse scope with varying physician leadership styles, necessitating strong relationship-building, effective communication across care teams, conflict resolution, and navigating HR challenges. A key focus includes managing growing workloads and staffing concerns while utilizing reporting tools like dashboards and management engineering reports to inform decision-making.
A caregiver in this position works M-F, from 8:00AM—5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Manage and monitor provider volume, access, and productivity.
Collaborate with physician and APP leadership to optimize provider productivity. Responsible for maintaining a productive provider schedule (weekly or inpatient service).
Manage provider template design, decision tree and provider fill rates (outpatient institutes).
Lead team responsible for provider recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
Manage provider allocation to exam room, OR, and procedure blocks provided by market teams and partner with market to support facility space utilization.
Work with hospital teams to enable hospital throughput.
Partner with ambulatory operations for inbound and outbound patient scheduling (outpatient institutes).
Partner with Ambulatory Operations and Access Team to ensure scheduling algorithms and standard work are optimized routinely (outpatient institutes).
Work closely with local teams to ensure they are structured to meet patients served and growth targets.
