Senior Strategy Consultant

Zurich North America is currently looking for a Senior Strategic Consultant or Project Leader  for our Strategy team in Chicago/Schaumburg. In this role, you will play a critical role in driving our strategy execution priorities, you will lead innovation initiatives and you will shape business development opportunities. You will collaborate with our Business leaders on a wide variety of projects.  
 

This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication and team management/interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must be highly self-motivated and able to build strong working relationships with both Internal and External Stakeholders.

 

Key accountabilities include:

 

• Understanding key business challenges and developing fact based analyses, including data models, to support succinct recommendations
• Working with cross-functional teams to synthesize insights and take solutions from idea inception to testing proof of concept.
• Challenging traditional ways of thinking, inviting leaders and teams to look at problems from a variety of perspectives and develop innovative, and forward thinking solutions
• Facilitating the preparation of materials for key external presentations and internal business discussions
• Assisting in the co-ordination of overall strategy and innovation priorities across Zurich North America
• Training and developing more junior team members.

 

The role will be filled at the Senior Strategic Consultant or Project Leader level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

 

Qualifications:

 

Senior Strategic Consultant:

 

• Bachelor’s Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the strategic management consulting area
• Ability to work in an ambiguous, dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving and advanced spreadsheet/database skills
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with the ability to adjust messages to varying levels of audience

 

OR

 

Project Leader:

 

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of strategic management consulting
• Ability to work in an ambiguous, dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving and advanced spreadsheet/database skills
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with the ability to adjust messages to varying levels of audience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Strong understanding of the Commercial Insurance Industry
• Experience in working closely with C-suite on strategically relevant topics

• Insurance Industry experience, forward thinking with the ability to identify trends within the industry
