Intern - General Engineering Lab and Test Engineering - Summer 2024
Landis+GyrAbout the role
Landis+Gyr is a leading global provider of integrated energy management solutions. We measure and analyze energy utilization to generate empowering analytics for smart grid and infrastructure management, enabling utilities and consumers to reduce energy consumption. Our innovative and proven portfolio of software, services and intelligent sensor technology is a key driver to decarbonize the grid. Having avoided more than 9 million tons of CO2 in FY 2021 and committed to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, Landis+Gyr manages energy better – since 1896.
With sales of USD 1.5 billion in FY 2021, Landis+Gyr employs around 6,500 talented people across five continents.
Landis+Gyr is seeking a General Engineering Lab and Test Engineering Intern for Summer semester May-August 2024 to work on-site fulltime hours Monday through Friday at our Lafayette, Indiana location. This is a paid internship but we don't provide housing assistance or relocation so will be considering local applicants.
Project Overview
Root cause investigation into test system anomalies. Data analysis on measurement and test systems to identify source of erroneous results. Work with the team and vendor as needed to develop and implement a corrective action. Perform frequency analysis of the AFE (Revelo), analyze results, propose any circuit modifications to improve response and performance as it relates to accuracy.
Will learn test systems, measurement, system accuracies, test methodologies, error sources (both HW and SW related). May experience working with vendors to resolve issues. Analog design and analysis experience.
Participate on a team of other Co-ops and Interns to develop a new test system for energy meters. Learn about the energy grid and how metering is a critical component to the future of stability and sustainability.
Summary report defining the root cause of the error and a proposed corrective action. Propose solution to fix the error, either internally or with the vendor. Implement the fix if possible. Provide report regarding AFE frequency response along with any circuit modification recommendations to improve performance.
