Overview
We are looking for an experienced Technology sourcing professional to join the BT Planning and Services function in the BT organization. The Vendor and Supplier Management SME will be responsible for building the overall strategic supplier and vendor framework for the BT organization. This role will drive vendor and supplier management strategies, implement framework for managing global supplier relationships, optimize relationships and vendor/supplier performance in the BT organization. This role will partner closely with the BG Procurement team. Their role reports to the Governance & Planning Leader in the BT Planning & Services organization.
As the Vendor and Supplier Management Lead you will:
Planning:
- Develop Sourcing Plan and drive sourcing options, Follow Procurement Processes, Evaluate Solutions, Develop Supplier Governance Model, Develop Contingency Plans and Exit Strategy, Identify Internal Resource Capacity
Procurement:
- Conduct contract Negotiations, Establish SLAs, Implement Supplier Governance, Educate Supplier on BT Policy and Procedures, Follow BT Standard Onboarding Procedures, Understand BT Security and Collaboration tools available to External Resources
Contract Management:
- Ensure vendor is delivering as per the contract, and that BT is utilizing the service or product in compliance with the terms of the agreement (e.g., understanding and communicating license and access terms); Manage the contract lifecycle incl. renewal check-ins; certifying that the invoice price aligns with the contract & that the work was performed
- Develop, track and report key metrics for vendor performance management:
- Oversee defining/ revising, tracking key metrics/ KPIs to monitor vendor performance against the set targets and report up vendor performance across multiple parameters - quality, time, innovation, cost, user experience, value generated, productivity, etc.
Vendor performance evaluation:
- Evaluate vendor on overall SLA/ contract compliance and escalate issues to overall vendor program management as necessary Encourage continuous improvement mindset and ensure process is in place
Senior and vendor relationship management:
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, leaders, and other customer teams
- Build trust-based relationships with senior management across businesses and other stakeholders
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree required, Masters’ degree preferred, or equivalent degree (Procurement related specialty) with at least 10-15 years of experience
- 10+ years of experience working with vendors in an outsourced/ managed services environment (may have been indicated through 3rd party interactions)
- Previous experience driving operational and financial management of vendors and vendor reporting
- Previous experience in data-based performance management
- Understanding of Infrastructure priorities and business needs
- Proven ability to build trust-based relationships with senior management across IT, businesses, vendors and other stakeholders and presentation skills
- Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Strong executive management and presentation skills
