Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Senior Procurement Field Representative to support the 787 Engine Management Operations Team based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.
Position Responsibilities:
- Engine Management Operations Support to Delivery Centers
- Act as communications interface for delivery activities between Delivery Center, Propulsion management, airline customers and engine companies
- Communicate significant propulsion related delivery issues to management
- Lead coordination on customer unique engine actions (e.g. engine bore scope)
- Lead engine related delivery center and engineering improvement activities
- Report backs to management and makes recommendations to procurement agent
- Identifies, establishes and maintains priorities for deliveries on products, services and data, necessary supplier contractual corrective actions, resolution of issues of poor schedule performance and product producibility and to ensure contractual compliance
- Weekend coverage on a rotational basis
- Position start time between 8:00 – 9:00 am EST
- Support Contracts and Customer Engineering During Delivery Process
- Lead/integrate technical and operational guidance to resolve customer issues
- Act as integrator/facilitator for multiple groups to work delivery issues
- Lead engine companies to obtain comfort letters and or delivery commitments letters to customers, as required
- Quality Issues
- Provide information to support customer request for root cause analysis on engine issues
- Provide customer feedback on the above results
- Monitors plan activities to ensure that supplier produces conforming and compliant products on time. Uses project management tools.
- Cost Recovery
- Track and document disruption costs in Engine Management database for quality issues, flight squawks, and customer pickups as required
- Validate disruption events with local engine company reps prior to submittal to engine company
- Engine Company Support
- Provide prioritization and assistance for incorporation of technical and quality requirement
- Provide engine companies required Boeing training and access to Boeing systems
- Support throughout value stream and ad hoc projects to support Engine Company, Delivery Center, and Customer activities
- Facilitates with the supplier the development of a recovery plan and unplanned demand requirements
- Assists suppliers in developing plans and monitors suppliers' performance-to-plan to ensure compliance to contractual requirements.
- Identifies and communicates opportunities to implement new processes or improve existing processes (e.g., lean manufacturing, work prioritization) to enhance supplier ability to produce and deliver products and services.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience with aircraft production or maintenance
- 5+ years of experience coordinating the operational aspect of ongoing projects, and serving as a liaison between project and team, finance, planning, scheduling and management
- 5+ years of experience communicating to employees, customers, peers and multiple levels of leadership
- 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to travel domestically as needed
Preferred Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Prior experience with Aircraft Engines
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain managing suppliers/vendors to deliver products and services
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 3+ years of experience in Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
- 3+ years or experience in Project Planning; Scheduling; Project Management
- Able to access and interpret Boeing airplane drawings, procedures, and processes
- Team Leadership (Formal/Informal) experience
Typical Education/Experience:
Typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.
