This nurse is responsible for anesthetizing small animals including:
· inpatient, outpatient, critical and non-critical cases
· review the medical history of the animal
· develop an appropriate anesthetic protocol for each patient
· place IV catheter(s)
· perform physical exams
· induce, maintain, recover the animal
· oversee recovery of the animals and indicate when the animal is able to return to its ward or be discharged
This technician is also responsible for setting up appropriate equipment for cases, communication with clinicians regarding inpatient cases and maintaining the flow of the daily schedule by starting cases at the appropriate times and communicating with clinicians.
The position will be 5 days per week, 8 hours per day. Overnight and weekend on call is required once
