We are currently looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team full-time to support our variety of customers. Overall responsibility for production function and meeting Company business and financial objectives. Direct management of production operations and workers, including meeting quantity, quality, schedule and cost objectives, and adherence to safety, quality, governmental and company standards and regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops programs, procedures, and practices to encourage employees to work safely in an environmentally responsible manner to achieve quality results at acceptable cost levels.
- Leads in Environmental, Health, and Safety implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepares budgets and monitors expenses.
- Plans, coordinates, and oversees annual plant shutdown activities.
- Provides technical support for maintenance functions for central and e-maintenance.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes strategic Capex projects.
- Provides advisory support to the plant-engineering group.
- Maintains plant engineering standards and compliance.
- Support and coordinate off shift maintenance staff.
- Drives the cultural changes necessary for the organization.
- Resolves personnel conflicts and ensures customer satisfaction.
- Develops systems and uses applicable tools to improve understanding of maintenance costs and utility measures relative to overall goals of reliability.
- Oversees the daily operation of the utilities systems for the site.
- Inspects and troubleshoots equipment as needed.
- Supervises engineering stores functions to properly support plant needs, including maintenance material and contracting needs, process material needs, and physical inventory.
- Ensure Maintenance Department compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Lead in the selection, supervision, and development of subordinate personnel.
- Establish analysis and submission of yearly departmental budgets.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with all other departments.
- Remain aware and trained on all technical advancements in responsibility.
- Assist and support Mechanics with expertise in equipment.
- Ensure that production equipment maintenance and operation are proper to the manufacturer’s specification.
- Oversee all parts acquisition activities.
- Proactively improve process functioning and strive for enhanced levels of efficiency.
- Oversees service calls and machinery repairs to production equipment and facilities to completion in a timely manner.
- Supervise plant level capital projects in conjunction with Plant Manager.
- Lead the predictive and preventative maintenance programs for the Plant.
- Develops initiatives to reduce costs while improving safety and productivity.
- Work closely with engineering and production managers to ensure that capital projects, systems and operating procedures are in place to ensure equipment reliability and meet productivity targets.
- Acts as a technical resource to help achieve manufacturing goals in the areas of safety, cost, quality, and service to customers.
- Other projects/duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical maintenance, or related/applicable technical discipline, or equivalent. Related bachelor’s degree a plus.
- Minimum five years of work experience in maintenance/production environment, including substantial experience in most or all the following areas: industrial maintenance and/or engineering, electrical, chemical, AC/DC, welding, boiler room or other maintenance functions; on-the-job training or certification in hydraulics, boiler room operations, welding, and forklift.
- Minimum three years of maintenance supervisory experience in production environment.
- Experience with establishing/managing budgets and financial reporting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Substantial knowledge in most or all of the following: industrial maintenance, plant electrical systems, AC/DC, boiler room operations, welding, pneumatics, plumbing, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
