Position Summary
The Senior Training Manager leads the development and delivery of Goodwill’s learning and development initiatives for team members at all levels of the organization. This position designs modern, engaging classroom, virtual, and online learning; administers and optimizes the Learning Management System (LMS); develops leadership and career development programs; and ensures onboarding and training initiatives support organizational performance, culture, engagement, and workforce development.
Responsibilities
Learning & Development
Designs, develops, facilitates, and continuously improves professional classroom, virtual, and online learning for hourly team members through senior leadership.
Creates and enhances training materials for New Hire Orientation, leadership development, compliance, professional development, and other organizational learning needs.
Applies adult-learning and instructional design principles to create modern, engaging, and effective training materials, presentations, e-learning courses, activities, assessments, and learning resources.
Partners with leaders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and develop solutions that improve knowledge, performance, and organizational effectiveness.
Evaluates training effectiveness and uses participant feedback, performance results, and organizational needs to continuously improve learning programs.
Learning Management System & Analytics
Serves as the subject matter expert and primary administrator for the LMS, including building and publishing courses, assignments, learning paths, assessments, and curriculum.
Manages the LMS learning library, course content, assignments, records, reporting, system maintenance, and overall organization and accuracy of learning resources.
Develops reports and analyzes LMS data to track completion, participation, learning effectiveness, trends, and training gaps and provides recommendations to leadership.
Evaluates and utilizes emerging learning technologies, including artificial intelligence, to modernize and improve learning delivery and administration.
Leadership, Career Development & Onboarding
Develops high-level leadership programs and learning experiences for supervisors, managers, directors, and senior leadership.
Creates, manages, and enhances organizational career paths and learning opportunities that prepare team members for advancement and cross-functional career opportunities.
Establishes and maintains effective onboarding and New Hire Orientation programs that provide a consistent introduction to Goodwill’s culture, expectations, and workplace.
Provides learning and development expertise related to workforce planning, organizational restructuring, talent development, succession planning, and internal advancement.
Culture & Organizational Partnership
Supports and reinforces Goodwill’s culture, mission, competencies, and Work with Purpose through training, leadership development, onboarding, and career development.
Partners with Human Resources and organizational leadership to strengthen team member engagement, retention, leadership effectiveness, and organizational capability.
Builds and maintains effective relationships with organizational leaders, HR peers, subject matter experts, community leaders, educational institutions, and professional partners.
