About The Role & Team
Amplitude is looking for an Internal Audit Senior to join our dynamic Accounting team. You will be responsible for planning and performing internal audits for a rapidly growing global organization. Collaborating with talented team members across various functions, you will play a key role in ensuring we complete our audits based on established timelines. The individual in this role enjoys building strong relationships, helps cross functional teams in managing multiple competing priorities to meet deadlines, and will own the role while embracing our cultural values of Humility, Ownership, and Growth Mindset. The role will initially focus on Sarbanes-Oxley Act and later expand to include special audit projects focused on growth initiatives and efficiencies.
As an Internal Audit Senior, you will:
- Partner with the Head of Internal Audit to develop the annual audit plan for Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) compliance
- Perform test of controls and document the results of procedures in our audit compliance tool. Our external auditors will review the documentation and rely on them for their external audit
- Work closely with the external SOX provider to track the overall audit plan and establish progress reports regularly
- Manage the quarterly Sales Certification and SOX 302 Certification process
- Independently research nature and root cause of audit issues/findings and work with process owners to identify short-term and long-term solutions to address issues
- Partner with cross functional teams to identify areas where compliance automation will reduce manual efforts, and work with the Corporate Engineering team to design and build solutions
You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on SOX audit experience preferably in a tech start-up environment
- High-level understanding of systems and how they interface; ability to easily learn new systems; experience with project management
- Ability to clearly and concisely articulate audit issues and findings in simple terms to cross functional teams
- Ability to independently research audit issues and work closely with internal teams, external contractors and auditors to remediate audit findings
- Proficient with productivity software including MS Excel (pivots, sumifs, vlookups).
- Good understanding of audits of both financial statement and IT General Controls/systems
- NetSuite and Salesforce experience is preferred, but not required
