American Building Supply (ABS), a subsidiary of Jeld Wen, and one of the Nation’s largest wholesale suppliers of Doors, Door Hardware, Windows, and Millwork, currently has a position available for a Maintenance Technician - to assist our Distribution division in providing value-added goods and services to our customers.

Hourly Rates starting at $29.52 – $32.63

Position Responsibility:

 

• Works on new installations of all power, lights, compressors, control panels, electrical service and powered industrial equipment
• Electrical repairs and troubleshooting throughout facility
• Performs routine and preventative maintenance tasks including overhaul and repair of machines, panels and conveyors
• Maintains logs of both preventative and routine maintenance as required
• Safety champion
• Using CMMS program Manager Plus to Log and record Work Requests
• Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
• Continuous Improvement
• Assists with various new or remodel commercial construction projects
• Other miscellaneous maintenance and construction projects as necessary

 

Special Requirements:

 

• Maintenance Technician experience
• 2 – 3 years hands on maintenance experience
• Strong Mechanical aptitude a must
• Experience using basic hand tools
• Strong Electrical aptitude a must
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical malfunctions
• Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures and address repair
• Able to work without assistance and direction in performing duties
• Must be able to climb ladders and perform overhead work
• Good communication skills both verbal and written
