About the Role

 

 

Leads the development and stewardship of strategic industry partnerships that unlock access to specialised AI capabilities (e.g. AI models, AI Engineering, AI-centric business domain problem solving, and training), aligned to business needs in key 'AI Industry Hub' locations. These geographic hubs—currently based in Singapore —are selected for their strategic importance to BHP.

 

 

Key accountabilities include:

 

 

• Leads the identification, formation, and governance of AI-centric industry partnerships to enable agile, commercially sound, and scalable collaborative delivery projects. Ensures partner alignment with BHP’s technical design and delivery standards and drives adoption of partner AI services.
• Builds regional business capability to realise value from mature AI tools through industry collaboration, including the establishment and leadership of AI capability chapters.
• Develops and maintains a high-performing pool of AI expertise in-region to support delivery across Digital Domains, broader business initiatives, and Technology programs.
• Manages relationships with external AI providers and partners to ensure BHP has access to leading AI talent, services, and innovation pipelines.
• Demonstrates strong commercial acumen in evaluating partnership opportunities, negotiating value-driven outcomes, and ensuring return on investment from AI engagements.
• Oversees internal and external technical teams, ensuring alignment of resources, clarity of roles, and delivery accountability across complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.

You have: 

 

• Extensive experience in leadership / senior AI / Data Science and Project delivery positions.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Data Science, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
• Excellent engagement and relationship building skills.
