Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to be based in Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; or Austin, TX to join our growing transit engineering practice. This person will have the opportunity to work on exciting transit projects including Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), Commuter Rail, and Transit Facilities. This team works collaboratively across the West Region supporting major transit agencies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Senior Transportation Engineer is a key position that will report to the Texas/Gulf Coast Transit/Rail Engineering Group
• The position includes responsibility for final design of linear transit infrastructure projects
• The successful candidate may be asked to serve as an AECOM Project Manager, discipline lead, or technical task lead on projects and will coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with other team members. 

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BSCE + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education 
• Professional Engineer’s License or ability to obtain within first year of starting

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience designing transit and transportation infrastructure
• Experience in designing bus rapid transit and/or light rail infrastructure
• Experience on engineering design projects for METRO, TxDOT, COH, Harris County
• Experience with design software including InRoads, OpenRoads, and/or Civil 3D
• Experience with business development and client relations
• Experience with in project management
• Experience with oversight of junior staff

• Offered rate of compensation (Texas locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $93,000- $150,000.
