Payroll Tax Specialist (TEMP ROLE)

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to come join our Human Resources team as our Payroll Tax Specialist. This role reports directly into our Payroll Director and will ensure tax compliance across all businesses in multi-state agency.

Responsibilities:

• Review and respond to federal and state notices
• Research and reconcile payroll tax variances
• Resolve tax filing issues working with third-party payroll tax provider, ADP Smart Compliance
• Quarterly and annual payroll tax auditing and reconciliation (940, 941, W2, etc.)
• Respond to internal inquiries regarding various tax notices and information
• Research and resolve outstanding issues related to prior tax periods
• Ensure our various companies are registered and licensed in all applicable state agencies
• Assist team with tax laws, regulations and best practices

Requirements

• Direct experience with ADP Smart Compliance
• Knowledge of Workday
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Extensive knowledge of payroll tax and process documentation
• Minimum of 3 years processing full-cycle payroll with multiple entities in multiple states
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles
• Clear communication, both written and spoken
• Comfortable multi-tasking in a deadline driven environment
• Self-motivated, comfortable working in both collaborative and autonomous environments

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree; Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPP, PHR or SPHR Certification
