Pay Range: $19-$31.30
Lean Technician
Operational Excellence is a key part of our business. A Lean Tech is responsible for driving continuous improvements through all operations. They will use a variety of tools through the daily management initiatives and improvement activities, assisting and coaching alongside operations and support functions in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will have some prior experience in Lean Manufacturing.
What You Will Do:
- Continuously learn and apply applicable Lean tools to drive a culture of change.
- Communication of the lean transformation and initiatives to employees.
- Responsible to help establish, coach, and maintain effective Management for Daily Improvement (MDI).
- Train and coach hourly operators and salaried employees on lean tools and processes.
- Support continuous improvement actions/projects: plan, support, participate, facilitate and lead
- Support, Facilitate and Lead basic problem solving (BPS) and resolutions.
- Assist Team Leaders/Supervisors to ensure improvements are made and sustained.
- Create and revise Job/Work Instructions, Standard Work and other procedures as required
- Other duties as identified by the Op Ex Manager and Lean Specialists to further the plants Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Flexible work schedule – Hours, breaks, lunch and tasks
- Adaptable to change, able to take on a variety of tasks and learn new skills
- Ability to establish priorities, effectively manage their time, able to multi-task to achieve results
- Good reading and verbal comprehension skills
- Good Communication skills: Able to communicate effectively with all levels, from hourly to senior staff
- Displays self-initiative, willingness to learn and solve problems with an open mind
- Able to present and provide training to individuals and groups
- Team Oriented, Able to participate with and lead cross-functional teams of people
- Able to work independently to achieve results within specified timeframes
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools
- Able to gather, organize and analyze data to problem solve and drive decisions
- Intermediate computer skills, Experience with: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ERP systems
- Able to use basic hand tools and measuring tools/gauges
- Basic math skills
Education / Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required, Associates degree or related discipline preferred (Post high school course work / training / or experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree)
• 3-5 year’s experience working in a manufacturing environment highly preferred
• Knowledge of basic Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement-based tools and techniques preferred
