The Production Scheduler assists the Business Unit Manager in planning and coordinating production schedules.

Is aware of and complies with all GMP and OSHA requirements to perform the essential functions of the job safely.

Works with the Manager to plan and coordinate cost effective and food safe production schedules.

Prepares reports and communicates with staff and customers regarding potential problems regarding schedule and/or production changes.

Adjusts inventories daily according to the over/short shipment report.

Communicates with the Warehouse regarding any problems that may be encountered during a run to avoid short shipping.

Communicates with Accounting on any issues in the schedule for a customer that may require a change to the system.

Develops effective scheduling process to achieve production objectives.

Analyzes and addresses production issues in a timely fashion.

Assists in responding to customer complaints.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Business Unit Manager.
While the duties above generally describe the job content, not all duties are performed continually or regularly (i.e., daily, weekly, etc.). Duties performed are dependent upon the operation being supported.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Technical knowledge of material requirements, planning, master scheduling, and inventory control techniques
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with planning and scheduling
- Product knowledge helpful
