Orbia is hiring for a Senior Manager of External Reporting and Technical Accounting to be Remote in the United States.
Job Summary/ Purpose
As a key leader in Orbia’s global Controllership team, the Senior Manager of External Reporting and Technical Accounting is responsible for directing and enhancing the Company’s financial reporting and technical accounting processes, including preparation and review of its external financial statements, providing guidance to Orbia’s business teams and corporate functions on complex accounting issues, developing, maintaining and training Orbia’s business finance teams on Orbia’s accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Orbia’s global control framework and policies (including Sarbanes Oxley compliance), and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support organization-wide strategic initiatives. This role requires excellent communication skills, accounting knowledge, both mindfulness with the ability to see the bigger picture and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Main Responsibilities
- Review and coordinate the preparation of the annual financial statements, annual report and supporting tables for quarterly earnings releases.
- Take the lead on environmental, sustainability and governance (ESG) reporting and disclosure project in collaboration with the sustainability team.
- Communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to stakeholders, monitoring progress and changes. Keep senior leadership informed of financial-accounting status.
- Ensure the existence and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. Identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization of internal controls.
- Lead the preparation of technical accounting memos, addressing complex accounting issues while providing technical guidance and expertise to functions and business groups.
- Assist in the development and implementation of global accounting policies and procedures and conduct policy trainings as needed.
- Drive process improvements and standardization initiatives, and automation across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 6+ years of either public accounting experience or combined industry / public accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Experience in in multi-national SEC public companies (manufacturing preferred).
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
