Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantum Site Engineer Intern to join our team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to work in a cutting-edge environment, supporting the operations and maintenance of critical infrastructure for quantum computing systems. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience in mechanical troubleshooting, system oversight, and compliance processes to ensure the efficient and safe operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Troubleshooting: Assist with diagnosing and resolving issues within critical infrastructure systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and energy control systems, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
Preventative Maintenance Support: Participate in preventive maintenance schedules (PMS) and repair work during system downtime, contributing to the mitigation of potential business interruptions.
Lab Oversight: Learn and support the oversight of lab operations, including machine shop management, shipment material handling, quantum processing unit (QPU) maintenance, and inventory management.
Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with operations and maintenance programs, focusing on preventative maintenance, safety training, hazardous materials handling, OSHA standards, water treatment, and proper record-keeping.
