Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Yacht Insurance Account Manager to join our Yacht Business Unit (YBU). In this role you will act as the primary point of contact for Yacht clients and be responsible for end-to-end account management, including renewals, quoting, policy modifications, claims coordination, and cross-selling. A strong understanding of yacht underwriting guidelines, and personal lines risk exposure is essential. Work location arrangement: This is a full-time, fully remote position that supports clients of SIG’s Yacht Business Unit throughout Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management – Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring responsive, professional service tailored to their lifestyle and risk profile.
- Policy Lifecycle Management – Manage quoting, endorsements, renewals, and policy delivery with precision and speed.
- Carrier & MGA Collaboration – Work closely with underwriters, MGAs, and specialty markets to structure coverage that fits non-standard and high-value risks.
- Claims Advocacy – Guide clients through the claims process, acting as their advocate and escalation point for complex or sensitive cases.
- Yacht Risk Assessment – Analyze client needs, vessel usage, navigation limits, crew exposures, and dockage to recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
- Cross-Selling & Retention – Identify opportunities to expand client coverage portfolios (e.g., secondary residences, businesses, luxury autos, jewelry, umbrella).
- Market Intelligence – Stay current on carrier shifts and emerging coverage trends (like cyber or crew liability), and regional regulations affecting yacht clients.
- Operational Excellence – Maintain accurate records adhering to compliance standards, and meeting client SLAs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience – 3+ years of experience in insurance account management, or customer service, including at least 1 year working directly with yacht insurance coverage.
- Licensing – Active Florida 2-20 General Lines license or non-resident equivalent.
- Coverage Knowledge – Deep understanding of yacht, P&I, hull, and excess liability coverage. Familiarity with marina, crew, and international exposure a plus.
- Technical Proficiency – Proficient in agency management systems (Applied Epic preferred), CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
