Who We Are
The IT organization of Wayfair is responsible for the life cycle planning of IT costs through asset selection, operation, refresh, migration, optimization, retirement and disposal. IT asset management is the focal point for the financial management of IT assets such as hardware, software and contracts and the exchange of financial management data. The Senior IT asset manager will oversee all activities that optimize the value, cost and risk of IT asset life cycles.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and enhance methodologies and practices for IT asset life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience as part of a cycle of continuous improvement.
- Ensure that IT acquisition and disposal processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation.
- Review and approve annual IT asset maintenance budgets and asset-related detail in business cases and project budgets to ensure that they comply with corporate policies, applicable standards and legislation.
- Implement and manage production of IT asset life cycle management status reporting, metrics and benchmarks.
- Advise the relevant project, program, infrastructure and application portfolio managers on asset strategies and recommend actions to optimize the IT asset portfolio.
- Gather all costs to ensure accurate transaction cost analysis and total cost of ownership analyses are performed for effective sourcing decisions.
- Coordinating all ITAM activity across the organization to enable collaboration that reduces the life cycle costs and risks of all the IT assets deployed.
- Ensuring that all IT asset life cycle-related costs and risks are correctly identified through metrics and published status reports, while enforcing mitigation and remediation activity.
- Assessing the age and condition of all IT assets with a view to optimizing their refresh or replacement to minimize risk and cost, while maximizing business value.
- Delegating or assigning responsibilities for sub-disciplines such as software asset management (SAM) and IT asset disposal (where appropriate) to achieve objectives.
- Acting as a conduit or clearing house for data gathered by all relevant management processes and tools for purposes such as showback or chargeback. Measuring and reporting on variances to budget for both asset purchases and support and maintenance costs.
- Evaluating, selecting and implementing ITAM tools and ensuring appropriate integration of data from non-ITAM-owned sources.
What You’ll Need
- A senior management role including engagement with procurement.
- 5 years of experience with IT, including data management.
- 3+ years of demonstrated leadership experience building cross-organizational consensus with exposure to technology providers and/or business clients.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience managing a high-performing, cohesive team.
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in liaising with middle and senior management
- 2+ years' experience in managing external IT service providers handling IT assets on behalf of Wayfair or similar sized enterprises.
- 2+ years managing the risk and cost implications of IT contracts or contract negotiations.
- 5+ years of hands-on information gathering, analysis and management reporting.
