About the Job 

The Production Associate Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the production of our PL products by organizing internal and external team members to ensure products are developed and delivered on schedule. To this end, the Production Associate Manager employs best practices for product tracking and systems implementation and use, in collaboration with the professional development team in the Professional Learning department. This is a key role with a high level of interaction with vendors, employees and external consultants and involves agile and flexible work to ensure that priorities are determined, and solutions are developed for any issues that arise.   

The ideal candidate for this position is an expert in the production of educator-facing, online and on-demand professional learning content, with extensive experience designing workflows to produce learning materials with a distributed team of subject-matter experts and learning design professionals at scale. 

Job Duties:

  • Manage Assigned Product Development for PL Portfolio 
  • Engage with cross-functional PL team throughout the Product Development process, tracking products across phases and through development for assigned products 
  • Perform in a matrix structure, working closely with portfolio team as well as the core Operations team 
  • Identify and manage any possible risks 
  • Provide access for project team members to system and support for development 
  • Create project plans 
  • Coordinate kick-off meetings with project team members 
  • Identify and contract consultants with unique talents to create learning module content that supports resource development. 
  • Create contract requests and contracts for SMEs 
  • Work with Production Association on signed contracts in Salesforce 
  • Populate and maintain project dashboards in Smartsheet to track product development 
  • Poll external and internal project team members for availability and calendar meetings 
  • Track and raise payments in Salesforce 
  • Perform administrative responsibilities on professional learning platform 
  • Support project team members (internal and external) with systems use and liaise with IT to troubleshoot
  • Contract Language and Resource and Editorial reviewers 
  • Analyse participant feedback with development lead and learning designer to inform product development /Manage spreadsheet with products to be sent to translation 
  • Respond and/or transfer queries from MEP to content developers or development lead 
  • Deliver and ensure implementation of editorial comments with learning designer 
  • Work with Operations Manager to overcome issues with any backlogged developments
  •  Maintain quality control procedures to meet industry standards and provide suggestions for improvements at regular meetings to Operations manager 
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve production issues. 
  • Manage trouble-shooting of technical issues for consultants and developers.
  • Collaborate with Operations manager regarding project tracking and capacity, shaping processes for a matrix management of products and processes for ensuring alignment across the Operations team.
  •  Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement and share with Operations Manager
  • Oversee a growing team of consultants including Subject Matter Experts and reviewers. Develop processes to evaluate their performance and provide feedback as needed. 
  • Coordinate a team of Multimedia Specialists, Learning Designers, Learning Architects, Editors, and SMEs to ensure the timely delivery and successful development of learning modules and their related assets. 
  • Manage the day-to-day work of external SMEs, setting timelines and ensuring content is delivered to specification and on time

Job Requirements: 

About You

  • A first degree or equivalent 
  • Advanced Experience related to project management of complex systems, projects, procedures, establishing processes to deliver content via matrix structure 
  • Demonstrable professional experience in an education environment 
  • A proven track record of managing the development of learning content in a matrix structure in a timely fashion, at scale and under budget 
  • Experience with Agile management a bonus an
