The Position

Roche aims to have a solid foundation for achieving operational excellence and high level of customer experience throughout their commercial End-to-end value streams - ‘Marketing Plan to Cash’, ‘Plan to deliver customer service’ and ‘Subscribe to retire digital products’. This vision requires Roche to develop a well thought-out architecture comprising a digital core (envisioned to be in SAP S/4HANA) and state-of-the-art solutions integrated with this digital core. As a thought leader and Enterprise Architect with focus on ERP - commercial excellence, you will support Roche’s transformation in partnership with system & solution architects to make decisions and architect composable, scalable and cloud-ready solutions.
Purpose
In your role you will become a member of the Architecture Chapter. The Architecture Chapter provides the capabilities required to plan and develop Informatics solutions and build roadmaps and strategies to set the direction for the future.
As an Enterprise Architect you will partner with relevant stakeholders in business and foundational domains, product lines, product management and lean portfolio management, and provide the expertise needed to bring together the different requirements and dimensions needed to support the development of the current and future direction; translating the overall business strategy(s) into an informatics strategic direction.
Additionally you will bring an understanding of the external market, drive the research and examination of new technologies to innovate and evaluate the next generation of fit-for-purpose solutions.

Play a key role in the strategic planning on domain, product line and product level by establishing a technology and information strategy and roadmap that enables a portfolio to support current and future business capabilities connecting the business and IT strategy
You are a Lean Portfolio Governance member and provide inputs to portfolio prioritization decisions
You drive the design, engineering, reuse of applications or patterns, which includes the creation of Enabler Epics for the architectures that comprise the solutions in a portfolio; ensuring a continuous flow of value and improving the time to market
You have a focus on reusable technology and information to maintain the architectural runway leveraging a composable architecture (i.e. creating reliable easy to compose and consume components)
You drive the continuous improvement of the quality of products within your domain by applying Quality Attributes (NFRs) on relevant levels (portfolio, product lines and products)
You drive the research and examination of new technologies including the feasibility assessment that provide insights on the scalability and cross domain usage
You support the development of lean business cases and monitor the domain, product line and products for new demands; specifically with a focus on skills and capabilities that the chapter needs to provide next
Put a strong focus on the enabling the flow and access on information and manage the information security in the domain, product line and products you are supporting in order to optimize the information and data sharing across the enterprise
You follow a lean-agile governance approach in support of agile teams, enabling decentralized decision making to balance between intentional architecture and emergent design, promoting architecture practices such as recording architectural decisions and architectural assessments.
You manage the evolution of the domain IT Landscape and ensure it enables the business strategies.You document and maintain the current and future / desired IT landscape in collaboration with solution architects of the domain, product line, products you are supporting
You guide and coach implementation teams and solution architects on the technical architecture implementation activities, particularly for new and/or shared solutions
You continuously collaborate across and among all architecture groups (chapter & catalyst) and product teams to adjust and evolve architecture guardrails (including architecture principles, reference models; patterns, decision frameworks), architecture practices and metrics (e.g. enabling flow and business outcome).
Perform the leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks required to ensure that information systems are designed and evolve appropriately
