Civil Reporting Finance Analyst
Full-Time
Derby/Hybrid (3 days a week on-site)
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join our Civil Reporting Team within the Civil Aerospace Financial Control function.
In this role, you will help to ensure the quality and timely delivery of Civil UK HQ financial reporting and forecasting operations. You will be engaging with key contacts across the Civil Aerospace business, Group and GBS, as well as getting involved in value adding projects to drive improvements in Civil processes. Based in Derby, you will report to the Civil Reporting Finance Manager.

The Reporting Team is accountable for the delivery of period end Civil UK HQ financials throughout the year. This involves liaising with all businesses and legal entities that make up Civil UK HQ to ensure that period end management reporting, quarterly statutory reporting and any ad-hoc financial reporting is complete, accurate and on time. The Team is also responsible for leading and managing Civil reporting processes.

This global role will allow you to gain excellent insight into the breadth of Rolls-Royce’s Civil Aerospace business and see how it all works together, to gain direct exposure to the requirements of financial reporting across Civil. You will also have exposure to senior management and the external auditors and support value adding financial projects. These projects will vary in size from major change programmes such as Civil-wide restructuring to smaller investigations and process improvements.

What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for preparation of quarterly FX revaluation, preparation of reporting deliverable for External Auditor, Group and Civil stakeholders, and being the key point of contact for queries from these stakeholders. You will also:
- Be responsible for Reporting Team period end journals relating to operating costs, recharges and central accruals.
- Prepare actuals vs forecast variance analysis each period-end, investigate variances and present the results to the Reporting Finance Manager and Head of Civil Reporting.
- Prepare the five-year forecast for Civil UK HQ and present this to key stakeholders.
- Perform Civil HQ Balance Sheet Review and present to key stakeholders (including Deputy Financial Controller and Head of Civil Reporting).

- A fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
- A self-motivated individual with strong analytical skills and a track record of consistently delivering quality results to challenging timelines.
- Resilience, problem solving and good judgment.
- Experience of SAP and Oracle HFM preferable.
- Very good MS Excel skills.
