Director, US Business Systems and Field Excellence

The Director, Business Systems & Field Excellence will manage a team of individuals who oversee business systems and associated processes with Veeva CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Orchestration Engine. This individual will partner closely with Field stakeholders (Sales, TLLs, FRMs, Patient Services), Commercial IT, Commercial Operations, and Data Management stakeholders. This role will drive Alexion US goals to seamlessly launch new products and ensure coordinated customer engagement. This role drives system and process adoption for the field through strategic and operational change management activities.
This individual thrives in a fast-paced environment, is seasoned with implementation (particularly with Veeva CRM), and can lead implementation of commercial go-to-market strategies.
You will be responsible for:
- Partners with the Commercial organization to build and optimize capabilities that enable rare disease customer engagement
- Defines the vision and roadmap for a team responsible for overseeing all CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Orchestration Engine, and Vault system enhancements.
- Provide leadership to enable efficient field and marketing operations.
- Collaborates with Sales Operations/Insights, Salesforce Effectiveness, and Data Strategy to implement and roll out critical Home Office requirements into business systems
- Coordinates with stakeholders on processes related to marketing material digitization and optimization
- Understands the technicalities of CRM and the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) to cultivate successful partnerships with IT, driving excellence in delivery with Commercial IT
- Stays up to date on technology landscape and critical upstream/downstream systems (MDM, Align, Events Management Reporting) to lead platform changes, new systems integrations, and manage issues
- Establishes and manages vendor relationships, and investigates new system enhancements to continuously improve and optimize the use of existing platforms
- Manages team finances and project spend
- Stays up to date on Commercial/Brand Field priorities to apply process and technology changes that will make the most impact
- Understands the field roles in depth in order to understand their pain points and needs
- Partners with Systems Training team on trainings and system roll-outs to the field
- Handles issues and escalations pertaining to all things that touch CRM and impact the field experience
- Provide thought leadership on innovation and new capabilities
You will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years’ experience in business system strategy and implementations including enterprise CRM, Salesforce CRM, and Veeva Commercial systems
- Proven record of leading complex cross-functional programs for commercial success
- People management experience
- Excels in business process optimization and business requirements gathering with a focus on how to build scalable systems and processes
- Proven ability in effectively working with and managing cross-functional teams, successfully navigating between Business and IT stakeholders
- Advanced Excel or equivalent software skills for data analysis
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to interact with senior management
- Strong project management, delivery, and risk management skills
- Vendor management experience including offshore resources
We prefer you to have:
- Rare disease experience
- Launch experience
