We’re looking to fill an exciting Talent Acquisition Specialist role within our Human Resources Branch.  The Selected candidate will be responsible for managing programs and providing professional guidance to employees and staff regarding Human Resources talent acquisition/onboarding initiatives, processes, policies, and procedures.

Talent Acquisition Specialist - (Employee Engagement) - The primary job responsibilities for this role include talent acquisition, HRIS administration, salary administration, program implementation and management, and business analytics reporting.  This position also has responsibility to develop, execute, and continually enhance department-wide programs, such as the employee referral program, employee engagement, exit interviews, mentorship/job shadowing, onboarding evaluation, and with creating processes to enhance and streamline talent acquisition activities.    

Essential Job Duties

  • Develop, update, and distribute company policy handbooks and reference guides and ensure the accuracy of information.
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, onboarding processes and continued employment processes for temporary, regular, intern and retiree staff, including pre-employment screenings, orientations, pay changes, service awards, and others.
  • Verify and process benefits eligibility and enrollment requests and reimbursements and ensure compliance local, state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential files for current employees, retirees and terminations based on company, local, state and federal guidelines and respond to file inquiries.
  • Communicate with and respond to questions and inquiries related to Human Resources functions from employees, retirees, managers, supervisors, external vendors, etc.
  • Train and mentor supervisors and staff in human resources policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and discrepancies per established procedures.
  • Analyze reports, present findings and make recommendations on regular human resources related functions.
  • Perform periodic policy, file, and performance audits.
  • Manage external vendor accounts and contracts.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Human Resources Management, Labor or Industrial Relations, Psychology or closely related field.
  • At least three years of progressively responsible professional experience in HR.
  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
  • Knowledge of an application tracking system is desirable.
  • Knowledge of LinkedIn or other social media platforms is desirable.
  • Lean six sigma certification is desirable.
  • SPHR or SHRM certification is desirable.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local laws and statutes.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, retirees and organizations.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to use provided computer technology to enhance the quality of work and programs.
  • Ability to keep focused on understanding, anticipating and responding to the needs of customers.
