<p><strong>LOCATION:  </strong>Albuquerque, NM</p> <p><strong>STATUS:  </strong>Exempt</p> <p><strong>MISSION STATEMENT:</strong><strong>  </strong></p> <p>The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church.  Its message is based on the Bible.  Its ministry is motivated by the love of God.  Its mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.</p> <p><strong>POSITION STATEMENT:</strong><strong>  </strong></p> <p>The Corps Ministry Leader will assume a variety of responsibilities geared towards providing relevant and meaningful programs and activities for adults who are part of the congregation, clients and volunteers.  This position will reflect a significant emphasis on program and relational ministry including program planning and anticipated outcomes.   </p> <p><strong>QUALFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Possess a college degree or hold ministry certificate in leadership or be able to show equivalent ministry experience.</li> <li>Must be a Salvation Army Soldier in good standing</li> <li>Must speak Spanish and English</li> <li>Knowledge of The Salvation Army beliefs and practices and be in agreement and live in accordance with TSA and Biblical standards is required.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in working with others in either a team or supervisory role.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability in program planning and management</li> <li>Ability to relate to youth in emotional crisis and to utilize crisis intervention skills.</li> <li>Ability to complete documentation accurately in a timely manner, possess time management skills.</li> <li>Must be able to work independently, be organized, and detail oriented.</li> <li>Computer literate in MS Office Software</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Pass a criminal background check.</li> <li>Demonstrate a positive attitude &amp; an ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds &amp; circumstances</li> <li>Able to maintain a non-judgmental demeanor, using a professional approach and maintaining boundaries with clients</li> <li>Have a current and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBIITIES:</strong></p> <p><em>Discipleship</em></p> <ul> <li>Ensure there are regular discipleship programs for adults and youth</li> <li>Recruit leaders and either coordinate or personally train leaders in culture and program</li> <li>Plan and lead spiritual meetings for all members/potential members, to include preaching</li> <li>Plan leadership meetings with Corps leaders, leading and keeping records of same</li> <li>Be available for one-on-one pastoral care as needed</li> </ul> <p><em>Outreach</em></p> <ul> <li>Network and connect adults with Corps programs (i.e. Sunday School, Corps Cadets, outreach events, Women’s Programs, Men’s 2.0, VBS,) developing creative ways to engage the local population, ultimately having them be involved in the Corps programs.</li> <li>Develop and start new programs – to include working with the Corps Youth Ministry Leader to connect the volleyball team, drumline group, and soccer team.</li> <li>Visit families associated with current Corps programs.</li> <li>Coordinate VBS and/or summer day camp in conjunction with Corps Youth Ministry Leader.</li> <li>Oversee all community related programs related to the Spanish speaking congregation.</li> <li>Recruit community volunteers</li> <li>Be visionary in developing programs that will meet the needs of the community.</li> <li>Represent The Salvation Army on local boards, committees, etc., as needed to effectively increase the visibility of The Salvation Army to the local community.</li> <li>Transport to and from Corps programs and or arrange for alt transportation.</li> <li>Assist in the running of the annual Christmas Kettle program</li> </ul> <p><em>Administration</em></p> <ul> <li>Review and prepare annual budget in conjunction with ABQ Metro Corps Command</li> <li>Ensure facilities are kept safe and in good working condition</li> <li>Manage and maintain assigned vehicle/s in good working order and ensure no one drives TSA vehicles without clearance from DHQ.</li> <li>Receive and process invoices related to the operation of the Corps in a timely manner</li> <li>Oversee and management employees/volunteers assigned to the ministry</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong>  </p> <p>Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.  A qualified person with a disability may request a modification or adjustment to the job or work environment in order to meet the physical requirements of the position.  The Salvation Army will attempt to satisfy requests as long as the accommodations needed is reasonable and no undue hardship would result.</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to
