Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company as part of Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) in Oklahoma City, is seeking a broad range of Systems Engineers with Certification and Applicant Airworthiness Experience including: Mid-Level, Lead, and Senior positions. The Program Certification team uses Systems Engineering Principles to accomplish Federal Aviation Administration certification efforts for commercial derivative aircraft modifications in support of their customers for development and modification programs in Oklahoma City.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to technical leadership and oversight in the following areas:  (Level and specific role will be based on experience). 

  • Maintaining certification plans and technical documents in support of regulatory compliance for FAA or EASA regulations.
  • Collaborate with the regulatory authority (FAA) and internal engineering team to establish the certification basis for the aircraft systems and equipment as well as the means of compliance.
  • Performs technical airworthiness planning and verification support including development and negotiation of airworthiness plans, basis of certifications, means of compliance, and certification activities for complex total systems
  • Engaging with certification authorities to achieve mutually agreeable solutions.
  • Building relationships and interfacing with other members of the program, leadership, customers and suppliers to meet team objectives.
  • Review and coordination with other airworthiness engineers as well as internal engineering disciplines performed at all levels of total system.
  • Development of Issue Papers and/ELOS for new and novel equipment and systems
  • Participating in design and test lifecycle, providing input from the perspective of regulatory compliance.
  • Developing solutions for complex issues related to certification and leading team members accordingly.
  • Utilizing business tools and systems to research, analyze, and compile technical data.
  • Adapting to changing requirements and performing well in dynamic conditions.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 3 years' experience with FAA or EASA MCDS (Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft) or STC (Supplemental Type Certificates) projects
  • 3 or more years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience Coordinating and develop Certification Plans
  • Experience in Aerospace and Systems Engineering
  • Experience mentoring technical teams and individuals
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences using a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas
  • Previous experience integrating systems and equipment into an all new aircraft design with a strong understanding of Part 25 Certification preferred.
  • Experience in the use  of RCTA DO-160, DO-178 and DO-254
  • Experience working with and alongside regulators on novel technologies.
  • Experience using digital engineering tools inclu
