Job Description

Your New Role

You'll form part of a highly skilled team of Oracle Administrators providing support and maintenance for a large enterprise environment spanning multiple locations within Australia and overseas.

The successful candidate will use their skills to enhance the design, automation, testing and maintenance of Oracle instances throughout the client’s environment.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

• Install, create, configure, upgrade and monitor databases to ensure optimum performance
• Evaluate, recommend, manage and execute upgrades and technology enhancements as required.
• Provide support to application teams for incidents relating to Oracle Databases
• Implement monitoring and health reports that help reduce and eliminate Oracle issues effecting end users
• Advanced query development, schema changes, Oracle database maintenance and optimisation.
• Be process driven and take ownership of issues through to resolution
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical system documentation
• Work within an ITIL framework for all work related activities (Change, Incident, & Problem management)
• Participate in the team on call roster and be part of a team roster covering 7am – 7pm weekdays

Qualifications

About You and What You'll Bring

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives.  You will also have:

• Relevant certifications or prior experience relating to Oracle Database technologies.
• Extensive Oracle Database experience (Oracle 11g and above)
• Experience with Oracle GoldenGate
• Experience with Oracle Support and Maintenance processes
• Experience in Service Management, Operations and Disaster Recovery
• Experience managing backup and restoration processes.
• Migrating database servers and upgrading to the latest version
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with other teams
• Attention to detail and to documenting complex systems and procedures
• Oracle experience to assist with Data Refreshes into no-prod for Regulatory Reporting purposes
• Strong communication and presentation skills. Self-motivated and engaged.
• Experience with other database technologies (PostgreSQL, DB2, or Microsoft SQL) would be ideal.
• 5+ years' broad and in-depth experience with Oracle features for SQL and PL/SQL
• Knowledge of the code deployment process

Additional Information

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a current NV-1 security clearance, with the ability obtain an NV-2 clearance in the future.
