Job Title: Mechanic B

 

A Mechanic B role is responsible for keeping machines and tools in good working conditions to enhance efficiency and prevent malfunctions that could lead to costly repairs. The associate, as a full functioning technician, performs the complete range of maintenance, repair, and service activities. They are responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of the product. 

 

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:

  • Schedule: 12 hours Sun-Tue and half day Wed or half day Wed and Thur – Sat 12 hours, day or night shift with opportunities for overtime
  • Starting hourly pay of $26.00

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH:

  • Performs preventive maintenance repairs and/or emergency repairs to production equipment. 
  • Performs effective and efficient equipment changeovers and overhauls following OEM specifications / training. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and escalate for additional support for unplanned equipment stops.
  • Accurate and thorough documentation of all work performed using maintenance tracking system and/or technical reports (e.g. log books, work orders and email).
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and diagnostic maintenance on production and facility equipment on a scheduled and/or required basis depending on the needs of the production facility. Documenting all work in CMMS / SAP system.
  • Participate in developing and documenting maintenance plans for equipment as assigned. For example, determining work description, parts and tools required to complete plans, and how often maintenance is necessary to maintain a particular piece of equipment.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical ability to lift, stand, climb, bend.  
  • Must be able to wear arc flash rated uniform while on duty.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level to facilitate the understanding of the terminology of the job.
  • Basic computer knowledge

 

SKILLS:

  • Technical diploma preferred but not required with experience. 
  • Pneumatic/Hydraulic: Maintains replaces and repairs all pneumatic/Hydraulic equipment and troubleshoot complex pneumatic system issues. 
  • Plant Systems: Monitor and Maintain Boilers, Air compressors, air conditioning, dust collectors, and other plant utility systems. Identify energy loss and correct issues. 
  • Some additional trade skills such as welding, carpentry, plumbing etc. could be needed at this level or future levels within the department. 
  • Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish).
