RKD Group, LLC is a dynamic, growing platform company making exciting acquisitions in the non-profit fundraising consulting industry. Reporting to the CFO, the Director or Sr. Director, Accounting & Finance Integration will be responsible for leading the integration of the accounting, finance, treasury, benefits, insurance, and contract functions from recent and future acquisitions into RKD Group. This professional must have strong experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting, and other adjacent business functions and have an engaging personality that can build relationships and collaborate effectively across many teams in a remote environment. The ideal candidate is strategic, learns quickly, naturally inquisitive and curious, with exceptional communication skills in both written and verbal forums. This leader must be cross-functionally savvy and business-minded to successfully contribute and lead cross-functional process implementation and standardization efforts.
A detailed explanation of each responsibility is as follows:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with the CFO, Controller, FP&A, Human Resources, and IT teams at RKD and respective teams at our acquisitions to identify opportunities to bring these acquisitions onto our processes and systems (Advantage financial system, Workfront Project Management, Salesforce Sales Cloud).
- Be the integration “point person” to merge and consolidate new acquisitions into the RKD Accounting & Finance organization, enabling capture of back-office synergies to allow scalable continued growth.
- Develop and manage post-merger integration (PMI) roadmaps, manage implementation of integrations through clear planning, status updates, and documentation.
- Push and probe to understand the “Why” behind the current processes that exist across the organizations and design an approach that maximizes synergies and standardization to allow improved scalability to RKD as a platform company for future acquisitions.
- Document PMI approach to create RKD’s Playbook for future acquisitions, speeding time to integration of new businesses into RKD.
- Ensure that project implementations are completed effectively, meeting management and departmental expectations for results and timing.
- Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
EDUCATION, SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- 15+ years’ experience in Accounting and/or Finance organization preferred with a Bachelor’s Degree in related function.
- Experience as Corporate Controller with experience leading Audits and Tax relationships.
- Experience aligning processes, systems, and teams across multiple business units, branches of a business, or integrating acquisitions.
- High technical ability and experience working within multiple accounting software systems.
- Knowledge of Advantage financial system is a plus but not required.
- Experience as a Subject Matter Expert or Super User in one or more systems implementation or major upgrade project, preferably as an Accounting Functional Lead or other leadership role in one or more projects.
- Demonstrated success improving processes in back office operations (e.g. billing & invoicing, vendor payments, cash applications, bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, financial forecasting & reporting, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort presenting to senior-level executives to align and promote change efforts.
- Highly organized with strong project management and process orientation.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities, problem solve and recommend solutions that best balance required trade-offs.
- High comfort level working remotely within a geographically distributed team, building relationships with individuals and teams via video calls and infrequent in-person meetings.
Location: Position is remote with core working hours in the Central time zone. RKD’s employees live in all U.S. time zones, so must be flexible for attendance in virtual meetings as needed on East and/or West Coast time. Must be able to travel on a limited basis for in person meetings, usually in Dallas, TX but sometimes in other locations.
Pay Range expected for the position: $175,000 - $225,000 annually with a bonus potential.
