Who we are looking for

Our State Street Bank International GmbH (SSBI) Poland Hub is providing operational services for internal clients in multiple locations in State Street Bank and Trust as well as SSBI. Corporate Audit is following this approach and members of Team located in Poland span across multiple teams covering a variety of State Street activities, processes and controls globally. In this context, State Street is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Managing Director acting both in a regional oversight role and overseeing audit assurance of a product portfolio.

In this role you will act as the Head of our Corporate Audit Team in Poland, overseeing completeness of audit coverage of Poland processes and controls and lead our audit assurance coverage of International Financial Data Services (IFDS). You will report directly to the Head of Corporate Audit SSBI and interact closely with the global Corporate Audit leadership team as well as build an effective relationship with senior management in Poland. The role provides insight into all parts of the bank’s daily operations and governance processes. You will be a problem solving partner, looking ahead to help management identify future risks and opportunities. You will provide strategic leadership across all aspects of the audit lifecycle, including, but not limited to: defining the audit universe, reviewing and approving risk assessments, setting the audit plan and overseeing audit engagements for IFDS audit assurance. This role is based out of Poland and can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements. In this role you will be part of the Corporate Audit Division, which has currently more than 300 employees worldwide.

What you will be responsible for

As Corporate Audit, Managing Director, Corporate Audit Poland and IFDS you will:

  • Drive and oversee the audit strategy for International Financial Data Services IFDS, including defining the audit universe, performing risk assessments, and overseeing the risk based audit plan

  • Effectively manage the client relationship with International Financial Data Services IFDS leadership

  • Manage the IFDS Audit Team and demonstrate leadership through supervision, coaching and development of staff.

  • Provide day-to-day leadership to the local audit team in Poland acting as matrix manager.

  • Oversee the audit coverage of activities, processes and controls in Poland in close collaboration with the wider Corporate Audit Leadership Team

  • Proactively engage with senior stakeholders in Poland to provide insights on key / emerging risks and issue themes and trends in close cooperation with the local audit team

  • Influence effective and sustainable improvements to processes and controls

  • Provide insight on the evolving regulatory environment and interact with global regulators

  • Stay abreast of industry matters and efficiently and effectively apply applicable new developments in audit projects

  • Prepare relevant risk and audit reporting to key stakeholders including executive management and governance committees.

  • Participate as a non-voting member of various business committees and management working groups, promoting balanced discussions and encouraging challenge and debate

  • Proactively engage in solving complex issues and engage in projects that may extend beyond own area(s) of expertise

  • Establish yourself as a trusted business partner and contribute to change initiatives by participation in system and business process change initiatives with strategic corporate significance by providing input on operational and technological risk issues in an advisory capacity
