BOOST LLC is assisting our client, Sanborn Geospatial is recruiting for a Senior Accountant position that is 100% onsite in Colorado Springs, CO. Position Summary:

The Lead Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of the company, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and control of all financial activities within established timelines and requirements. This position is central to ensuring financial stability and transparency, enabling informed decision-making and successful project outcomes. This role involves collaborating with project managers, finance teams, and internal staff to oversee:

  • Project Financial Performance: Monitor and optimize financial outcomes for projects, including revenue recording, cost reconciliations, expense tracking, and budgeting.

  • Accounting and Reporting: Develop and maintain accounting controls, oversee general financial reporting, and assist the Controller in delivering accurate financial information for management and stakeholders.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support company-wide budgeting processes and financial forecasting.

  • Audit Coordination: Facilitate external audit activities and ensure proper record controls.

Responsibilities:

Project Cost Control and Monitoring:

  • Identify, apply, and evaluate cost control techniques to effectively monitor, manage, and report project costs.

  • Track project expenses and prepare detailed and timely project financial reports.

  • Analyze and report financial data to develop a comprehensive and accurate financial picture for each project.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Assist in preparing financial statements with accuracy, integrity, and adherence to US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Ensure accurate accounting transactions and balances, including timely reconciliation of revenues and associated costs.

  • Guarantee compliant subcontract reporting to various state and government agencies.

  • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

Accounting Policies and Procedures:

  • Assist in developing and revising accounting policies and procedures to maintain robust financial practices.

  • Determine proper accounting treatments for complex or unusual transactions.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Provide financial insights and support to program management, company executives, and the Chief Executive Officer.

  • Analyze financial performance and recommend strategies for improvement.

Project Accounting:

  • Manage full lifecycle project accounting, including setup, cost tracking, and financial reporting.

  • Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.

  • Monitor revenue recognition and ensure accurate, timely billing for various contract types (Fixed-Price, Cost-Plus, T&M, etc.).

Government Contract Management:

  • Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and DCAA audit requirements.

  • Manage indirect rate calculations and allocations, including overhead, G&A, and fringe pools.

  • Assist with incurred cost submissions and other government reporting.
