Steam Generator Technician

Opportunity Overview:  Steam Generator Technician (Secondary Side) - Contract for Fall, 2024 Outage

 

WECTEC Staffing/Westinghouse is looking for Steam Generator Technicians to work on secondary side service activities for the Fall, 2024 outage season.  Training will be held from 8/18/2024 – 8/31/2024 at the Westinghouse Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. 

 

The Steam Generator Technician will provide the hands-on work in containment to execute secondary side service activities.  In addition to the responsibilities below, the Technician must be thoroughly familiar with the practices required to work in an FME Zone 1 and understand all associated inspection and logging requirements.   The technician should also be competent with ALARA practices for working in high radiation areas.

 

What your day-to-day looks like:  

 

• Under the direction of knowledgeable technicians set up equipment to support SG Secondary work. 
• Work will include running hoses and cables, staging equipment, and material handling.
• Assist with the installation and alignment of sludge lance fixtures.
• Perform platform support of sludge lance, including installing and removing lance sections.

 

What we need to see from you:

 

• Ability to work in confined spaces for a long duration.
• Ability to fit through a manway opening of 16” to 20”.
• Able to read schematics.
• Patience to work with delicate, small diameter probes for viewing and retrieving small parts in the generator.
• Computer literacy including proficiency in Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Nuclear power plant experience preferred but not required.
• One year of nuclear outage experience is preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
